Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can you make it to my house?

Most of the time we can make it to your home or business with a few hours. Depending on the severity of the problem sometimes even sooner. We do our best to always schedule appointments accurately and to allot the needed time. That said sometimes the schedule suddenly changes or a project goes longer than we anticipated. When this happens, we’ll always do our best to communicate a schedule changes as soon as possible.

What is the Preventative Maintenance Program?

The Preventative Maintenance Program is a three-part membership program that’s designed to give clients the maximum peace of mind to know their home’s plumbing, heating, and or A/C equipment is being maintained and running at optimal performance. Maintenance plans include services such as crawl space inspections, water heater flushing, filter change outs, motor lubing, combustion safety checks, and much more.

Clients can select from one to all three maintenance plans.

In addition to the peace of mind and money savings that comes with proper maintenance, members also receive priority scheduling and discounted value rate pricing on all repairs.

How much do you charge per hour?

We don’t charge by the hour; jobs are priced by individual bid. Years ago we decided that it’s not fair to paying by the hour isn’t fair to the client because it leaves the price open until the job is completed. You never really know how much you’re going to pay. Plus you have to pay extra for a slow technician; that doesn’t make sense.

Our method is to properly diagnosis with an onsite visit. Once diagnosed we can provide the client with an straight forward upfront bid. This way the client knows the total cost before proceeding with the work; there are no surprises at the end of the job.

Are you licensed and insured?

You bet we are!

Since 1984 we’ve had our C36 plumbing and C20 HVAC license. In addition we are insured, bonded, and carry workers compensation insurance. All of our technicians are factory trained by our manufactures and undergo weekly technical and safety training. They know their stuff.

What type of warranty do I get?

One of our greatest assets is our willingness to work with clients, take responsibility, and get things fixed. In the world of home repair there can always be defective parts, installer error, and even sometimes even the unexplainable. We guarantee all of our work and offer a 1 year no questions asked test drive on any new product install.

We are in the business of taking care of people and we want to be your service company for life. We are committed to making you a happy client and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Can I supply my own material and have you install it?

Yes we’re happy to install customer supplied fixtures. The only materials we can’t install customer supplied, are pipe, fittings, valves, and HVAC equipment. Please see our warranty page for certain warranty restrictions on customer supplied materials.

I’m a little nervous letting a stranger into the house. Who can I expect to arrive at my door?

We screen, interview, and check all of our employees. Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air is a family owned and operated business. I, and my service managers, meet with each employee on a weekly basis. I personally guarantee that I’ll never employ someone that I wouldn’t trust in my own home.

How can I pay for the service? Do you offer financing?

We take all forms of payment: cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discovery, and American Express. We also offer financing on projects over $750. The financing plans are always changing but we typically have a 12-month payment plan option.

What type of rebates are available?

Rebates are always changing and it hard to keep up with all of them. So don’t let this page be your final answer. Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air has been through our share of rebate programs and is happy to work with you.

For plumbing the current rebates are limited mainly to toilet upgrades. Most water districts are still offering between $100 and $200 towards install of a 1.28 gpf toilet. Additionally some areas are still offering water heater rebates, but be sure to check with your utility company and tax adviser as most of the rebates weren’t renewed in 2014.

For HVAC there’s really not much going on for 2014 rebates. There are still rebates through the Energy Upgrade California (EUC) program. These rebates range from $2500 up to $4500 depending on the scope of project. Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air is a certified BPI contractor and happy to help with EUC projects. Please contact us to schedule a consultation. The EUC rebate program can be a great option for clients looking to do a full overhaul of their homes heating, cooling, and insulation.
